Our inaugural Pact Society members release is also an introduction for our Faust Collaboration Series, where we introduce a “friend of the Haus” to our members. On Saturday November 14th at 1pm, we’ll be joined by Faust collaborator Matt Hranek, author of A Man and His Car and editor of WM Brown Magazine, alongside Estate Director Jen Beloz for a conversation on Matt’s new book while tasting some special wines from our Coombsville estate.

2015 The Hour

The Hour brings our estate Syrah into focus. Our original plantings are now hitting their stride, and they are rewarding our initial belief that the Syrah grape and our Coombsville estate would elevate one another and create magic. In a blend complemented by opulent Merlot fruit flavors and fine-grained tannins, with Malbec brightness adding lift, our winemaking team found the sweet spot in 2015. The combination of seductively ripe fruit and structure born in volcanic soils is a treat in the glass.

2015 The Lure

The Lure is the tale of mountain fruit’s struggle for survival and its redemption in the bottle. Vines planted on extreme slopes on poor, volcanic soils create berries of distinction, but the road each vintage is perilous. Dramatic diurnal shifts and vine roots feeling their way through rock crevices for water and nutrients divert energy away from fruit growth, and the resulting bunches are small and few. The natural concentration and intensity of thick-skinned mountain grapes is easy to spot in The Lure.
